Lady Gaga can feed off of the acting prowess of Angela Bassett and produce a noteworthy performance in FX’s American Horror Story: Hotel. Show runner, Ryan Murphy made the announcement on Twitter, “In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere.”

Following the announcement, Angela Bassett will be rejoining the stellar cast comprising of Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson in the upcoming season that is slated for release in October. Production of the show has been scheduled to commence this summer and it will take place in Los Angeles.

No further details regarding the character of Angela has been disclosed yet. But, if the tweet is anything to go by, Angela will most probably be cast in the same plot as Lady Gaga.

Unlike Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett has worked with the American Horror Story team before in the previous seasons, Coven and Freak Show. She was even up for an Emmy nomination (which she should have won) for her portrayal of the character, Marie Laveau, in the 3rd season of AHS: Coven. The upcoming season will be Angela’s third season with the AHS team.
