The View – Whose Seat Is It Anyway?

Do you remember fighting for the window seat when you were a kid? Well, it turns out that Hollywood is not alien to such childish antics. RadarOnline.com has learned that there’s a clash of egos at The View, and stars Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell, are reportedly in a power struggle over the moderator seat. According to an insider under RadarOnline’s radar,” Rosie wants it back from Whoopi. It doesn’t matter to Rosie that Whoopi has sat there for the last several years. Rosie doesn’t want to be sitting anywhere but back in her old spot.”

The insider further indicated, “In Rosie’s mind, this is once again her show. Whoopi won’t be giving it up, and Rosie even suggested they trade seats every other week. It’s all a power trip for Rosie, which is resulting in tension on the staff.”

Although, it is still early days in Goldberg’s four-year lucrative contract deal as a co-host on the popular show, The National Enquirer’s source reports that Whoopi is believed to be heading towards the exit door. A source close to Goldberg mentioned, “Whoopi regrets roping herself in like that and is trying to figure a way out.” The source continued, “She wants to do other projects and feels network honchos are holding her back.”

It is not sunny on the sets of The View and the ABC executives are enjoying seeing their plot coming to fruition because of the extra friction. The insider continued, “The tension isn’t bothering ABC executives because this is what they wanted. There hasn’t been this buzz around The View for a long time. Bringing Rosie back was a guarantee that there would be controversy. Rosie has been boasting she will be at The View for a very long time, and won’t be playing second fiddle to anyone.”
