Miami Dolphins Lead NFL in Fines For 2015-16 Season

Miami Dolphins lead NFL in Fines

Training Camps have just started around the NFL and the Miami Dolphins are already millions of dollars ahead of all other teams with over $5 million in fines. This is the result of a one year suspension for defensive end Dion Jordan.

Jordan has been suspended for violating the NFL’s drug policy for the third time in less than one year. He was suspended a total of six games in 2014 for testing positive for banned substances on two different occasions, costing him two games and then later an additional four.

I deeply regret putting myself in this position, and I apologize to my teammates and the Dolphins organization,”

Jordan wrote in a statement released by the NFL Players Association.

“I will use the time away from playing to finish my college degree. I will stay in excellent physical shape and look forward to returning to the NFL as soon as possible. I am deeply grateful to my family and friends for their continued support.

Dion Jordan’s most recent test showed signs of being diluted, which is cause for a positive ruling that an illegal substance was present. In his two previous suspensions in 2014, he failed both tests administered to him.

This is the latest string of fines for a Miami Dolphins organization that has received more negative press for their tumultuous locker room than their on field struggles.  Way to gear up for the season!
