Jennifer Hudson Tweets New Album Cover & Release Date

Finally! Jennifer Hudson just announced the release date and the album cover for her highly anticipated third studio album, JHUD. After dropping four singles throughout the year, we’re finally going to get the full album — all ten tracks — on September 23rd.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Hudson wrote: “My new album JHUD is coming Tues. September 23!! So excited to give yal the first look at the cover!”

This is Hudson’s first album since the 2011 LP, I Remember Me and features a slew of collaborations and guest producers. T.I makes an appearance on the Pharrell produced track “I Can’t Describe (the Way I Feel),” while “It’s Your World” features R.Kelly, and Timbaland helped produce “Walk It Out.” The latest single off JHUD is called “Dangerous” and features a beat straight out of the ‘80s, but with Hudson’s timeless voice.

The Grammy and Oscar winner also made a recent appearance on the Today show, where she hammered out “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going,” and two tracks off JHUD — “It’s Your World” and “Dangerous.” The crowd at Rockefeller Center loved every second of it, and Hudson seemed to be just as excited about the performance and the new material.

“With this album, I feel as though you get a sense of my energy,” Hudson said.. “That’s why we named it JHUD, because you’re getting to know the girl and not just the public persona of Jennifer Hudson.”

If the four tracks already released are any indication of what we’re in for, JHUD is sure to be banging through our speakers for a long time!
