Floyd “Money” Mayweather cashed in after defeating Manny Pacquiao on May 2, earning more than $220 million to remain undefeated.

That same night, Mayweather also won the WBO title, which Pacquiao had held prior to the fight, adding to his collection of two other junior middleweight titles he currently occupies.

Well, Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET, Floyd Mayweather let the deadline to pay a $200,000 sanctioning fee for the fight pass without paying a single cent to the WBO world championship committee.

Monday morning, Money Mayweather found himself one title short, as the committee voted to strip him of his title. Here’s what the money team had to say about the ruling:

It’s a complete disgrace,” said Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe. “Floyd will decide what, or if any, actions he will take. But in the meantime he’s enjoying a couple of hundred million he made from his last outing and this has zero impact on anything he does.

“Floyd Mayweather has a great deal of respect for each and every organization, as he has always had in his 19-year career, but he will not be dictated to by any organization or person as it relates to his decision making.

This could be another case of Mayweather feeling like he’s beyond the rule of law. It is well known in the boxing community that a boxer cannot hold titles in multiple weight classes. The boxer must decide which title he will retain and vacate the others. Mayweather was attempting to hold all three. You’d think a boat load of money would be enough for Floyd. Guess not!
