It doesn’t look like Jay Z‘s as hardcore as he portrays. He reportedly spoke to Beyonce over the phone for almost a year before conjuring enough courage to ask her out. By the looks of it, the man is now embroiled in a hot dispute with sister-in-law, Solange.
Solange grabbed headlines she never heard of, when she kicked and sucker punched Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Ball Gala after-party. We started the article addressing Jay Z’s hardcore street rep, didn’t we? Unlike Dr Dre’s assault on Dee Barnes, things never really escalated between Solange and Jay, as the appalled submissive rap mogul took the assault like a man. You see how we’re connecting the dots?
After the surveillance footage of the incident was released by TMZ, the video went viral and spread like wild fire. The video clearly depicts Beyonce standing there, an unmoved bystander, allowing proceedings to run its unnatural course instead of running over to her hubby’s aid. It certainly looks like there’s trouble in paradise.
Solange is now on everyone’s radars and her sales seem to have improved drastically. Nielsen-Soundscan even reported the rise in sales, “A little bit of Jay Z’s sales magic must have rubbed off on Solange Knowles when she clocked him in that infamous elevator ride. Sales of Beyoncé’s younger sister’s songs soared following widespread coverage of her videotaped attack on her rap-star brother-in-law earlier this month.”
Solange deserves a proper shout out and we are willing to let her 15 seconds of fame linger a little longer.
