Will Obama Be Impeached?

Obama Impeachment Fears

President Obama has faced both serious and laughable critics since his first day in office, but he may be up against his biggest political obstacle yet: Impeachment.

Yes, that’s right, Republicans are actually thinking of bringing criminal charges against the President of the United States. Senior Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer has said the Administration expects Speaker of the House John Boehner to begin impeachment charges against Obama at some point in the near future. The comments came on the heels of an announcement that the GOP plans on suing Obama in civil court for abuses of power stemming from Obamacare.

“I think that Speaker Boehner, by going down this path of this lawsuit, has opened the door to Republicans possibly considering impeachment at some point in the future,” Pfeiffer said. And with the President’s “coming executive actions surrounding immigration reform,” the lust for impeachment will only get stronger.

For its part, the House GOP, led by Speaker Boehner, has balked at such accusations. In a statement responding to Pfeiffer’s claims, Boehner’s office said:

“We have a humanitarian crisis at our border, and the White House is making matters worse with inattention and mixed signals. It is telling, and sad, that a senior White House official is focused on political games, rather than helping these kids and securing the border.”

So, to recap: We have one side saying the other side is going to do something while the other side says it isn’t going to do anything at all.

Sounds about right to us!
