Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a simple plot but complex themes dealing with trust, fear and forgiveness. If you’re a fan of the “Planet of the Apes” series, then you don’t want to miss Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The apes look so much realer in this movie than the last one!

When the movie begins, it’s been ten years since the virus spread around the world. The apes who survived the virus live in the woods outside of the city while the human survivors huddle in small numbers in the city. When the humans cross paths with the apes, a clash begins that reveals a more complex theme. The conflict throughout the movie between the apes and humans is fueled by mistrust and fear.

Humans are beginning to realize the undeniable fact that they are not the only creatures on the planet with intelligence and self-awareness. They cannot ignore the fact that the apes have a culture, a history, and hopes for their own future just like humans do.

If you’re willing to engage in some philosophical reflection, you will see that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes challenges our human-centric worldview while telling an entertaining and engaging story.
