If you’ve been following True Blood over the past six seasons, then you’ll want to savor the seventh and final season of this sexy vampire show. Loyal fans have been promised closure on the unforgettable story of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) as they, along with the writers and crew, say a final goodbye to Bon Temps.

At the end of season 6, devoted fans will remember that Eric was supposedly dead, and Sookie was finally with Alcede. The show’s writer Brian Buckner said that fans “would get more of everybody they love” in “what promises to be a fantastic final chapter” in this eventful series that has featured vampires, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters, and fairies.

HBO President Michael Lombardo commented on the legacy of True Blood by remembering Alan Ball, the respected and departed series creator who took the books of Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast, and crafted a spectacular show for five seasons. As the story of Sookie and Bon Temps comes to a close, HBO hopes this final season will kindle the passion of fans and leave a lasting memory of True Blood as a remarkable show.

With only 10 episodes left, writer Brian Buckner aims to do the “very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.” Don’t miss the last days of True Blood—the seventh season starts summer 2014. This is also a chance for Buckner to step out on his own and out of the shadow of Alan Ball, but more importantly, the final season will also shape how the public remembers True Blood.
