DMX’s legal troubles continue as the rapper has been sentenced to six months in jail for $400,000 worth of unpaid child support. The rapper’s run ins with the law have been well-documented with arrests coming in New York, South Carolina, and Arizona since 2007. He’s faced charges of animal cruelty, drug possession, and probation violations. In April, he was even accused of robbing a man at gunpoint at a gas station in Newark.
DMX was arrested June 26, one hour before he was set to perform at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. The arrest came after a warrant was issued by Erie Country Family Court for the back child support.
In recent months, it appeared as if DMX was getting back on track with his career, performing at shows across the country and working on an album with Swizz Beatz. However, with six months behind bars in his future, there’s no telling where things will go next.
Here’s hoping he can bounce back and hit the music scene with a vengeance.
