Birdman Suing Jay-Z’s Tidal for $50 Million

Y’all ready for this one? I suggest you pop some popcorn and grab a drink because the drama between Birdman and Lil Wayne has now spilled onto Jay-Z’s front yard. Get this, Birdman, CEO of Cash Money Records, is suing Jay-Z and Tidal for “illegally streaming” Lil Wayne’s mixtape, “FWA.”

The news comes after Wayne released his Free Weezy Album exclusively on Tidal last week, largely in part because the rapper claims that he offered to produce and release exclusive content for the online streaming service for a stake in the company.

Unfortunately, the agreement between Wayne and Jay came after Weezy had made it clear to the rest of the world that he was not being allowed to release another album by Birdman due to his expiring contract with Cash Money Records. Wayne was largely roasted on social media for his honesty about the situation, but no one expected him to follow up his claims with a $51 million lawsuit against the label.

Between Wayne’s lawsuit, allegations that Birdman was plotting to kill Lil Wayne, and now this lawsuit against Tidal, don’t be surprised if a quick kiss between the two in a music video doesn’t patch things up.

Jay-Z and Tidal have yet to comment on the situation but Jay’s never been one to handle things in the open.
