Nick Gordon reached a new career low when he took to daytime TV to showcase his softer, emotional side. Nick Gordon is Bobbi Kristina Brown’s drunk, drugged, and out-of-sorts boyfriend. The man was invited to an on-camera Dr. Phil intervention. The intervention was initiated to get Nick into rehab, and it duly fulfilled its objective. Dr. Phil suggests that Gordon went straight to rehab after the taping of the show.
It wasn’t a pretty sight though and the man showed resistance before submission. He shouted, screamed, stormed and sobbed. Gordon walked out of the set numerous times during the filming. When he spoke, he slurred his words and made sure everyone knew of his hatred towards rehab and how he’d never go there even though he knew he needed to. It was enough to evoke a response out of Dr. Phil who said, “He’s out of control; he’s screaming he wants to die. If he’s left to his own devices, he’ll be dead within a week.”
People close to Gordon were initially alarmed when he vowed to kill himself; he revealed his true feelings on Twitter. He tweeted on March 3, “I’m so hurt. I wanna do myself in, I know I have to be strong.”
Gordon was a total mess during the interview. The man remained impatient for most parts of the interview, and he even snapped at McGraw, telling him to expedite his healing process. “Get to the point quick,” he said. When asked to man up by McGraw, Gordon quickly retorted, “I’ve been so strong for so many people for so long, so please don’t tell me to man up.”
Although, it looked like Gordon didn’t have a clue to where he was, he proved us wrong with his strong presence of mind. Upon coming to a realization that the broadcast and his meltdown would be viewed by millions worldwide, he requested with tears streaming down his cheeks, “Don’t put this on TV. I’m going to seem so weak in front of the world. I can’t believe I’m crying in front of the world.” His mother was there to lend him support.
Like a broken record, he kept professing his love for Bobbi Kristina, and her mother, Whitney Houston. He also expressed his detest for Bobby Brown after revealing that the man had barred him from visiting Bobbi at the hospital.
